Joddie Gleason is an assistant coach for the Eastern Washington University women’s basketball program, bringing extensive collegiate coaching experience and a proven track record of program development. Since joining Eastern Washington in 2021, she has helped elevate the program into a competitive force in the Big Sky Conference. Her impact was highlighted during the 2023–24 season when the Eagles posted a program-record 29 wins, captured the Big Sky Tournament title, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Known for her ability to develop talent and build cohesive teams, Gleason has contributed to significant year-to-year improvements and multiple player accolades, including conference player of the year and freshman of the year honors.
Before arriving at Eastern Washington, Gleason served as associate head coach and offensive coordinator at Seattle University, where she helped lead the program to a WAC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance. She also spent 12 seasons as head coach at Humboldt State, becoming the winningest coach in program history while earning conference titles and NCAA Division II Tournament berths. Her coaching career began at Butte Community College, where she built a successful program and later earned Hall of Fame recognition. As a former standout player at Chico State, Gleason was a Kodak All-American and remains one of the program’s all-time leading scorers. Her extensive experience as both a player and coach informs her leadership and commitment to student-athlete success.
