Joanna Henry

Assistant Coach

Joanna Henry is an assistant coach for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights women’s golf program and is in her 10th season with the program during the 2025–26 campaign. She is currently in her fourth season serving as associate head coach, playing a key role in both the competitive and academic development of the team. Since Henry joined the staff in 2016, Rutgers women’s golf has experienced sustained growth, producing five tournament victories, 37 top-five team finishes, and numerous program records across 18-, 36-, and 54-hole formats. Her tenure has coincided with Rutgers’ rise to national recognition, including multiple postseason appearances and a landmark National Golf Invitational Championship title during the 2023–24 season. Henry has been instrumental in fostering one of the strongest academic cultures in collegiate women’s golf. Since 2016, Rutgers student-athletes have earned 58 WGCA All-America Scholar honors and 42 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar recognitions, while the program has repeatedly been named among the nation’s top 25 for academic performance by the WGCA. Henry earned her undergraduate degree in psychology and business management from Columbia University, where she competed on the women’s golf team and served as a team captain. She later completed a master’s degree in Global Sports Business at Rutgers in 2019 and an MBA in Strategy and Leadership in 2023. A Southern California native, Henry brings a background in junior golf instruction, athletic operations, and player development, contributing a well-rounded perspective to the continued success of Rutgers women’s golf.
