Jimmie Massie
Assistant Coach
Jimmie Massie joined the Maryland men’s golf staff as an assistant coach on August 22, 2022, under head coach John Phillips. In the 2024-25 season, he helped lead the Terrapins to their first team title in over a decade by winning the inaugural Testudo Cup (Maryland posted a −11 score to win) and also significantly improved their standing at the Big Ten Championships, finishing 6th among 18 teams, up from last place the prior year. Massie is originally from Lynchburg, Virginia, and played Division I golf at the University of Virginia from 2018 to 2022. During his collegiate playing career, he recorded three top-10 finishes, including a 5th place at the Palmetto Intercollegiate. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from UVA, and his academic honors include selection to the 2019 All-ACC Academic Team, multiple ACC Academic Honor Roll recognitions, and the Jim Copeland Memorial Scholarship.
