Jim Fleming is the head football coach at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, Rhode Island, a position he has held since December 2013. Entering his 12th season in 2025, he has overseen one of the most successful periods in the program's modern history, including Rhode Island's first CAA Football championship in 2024 and its first postseason appearance since 1985.
The 2024 season marked a breakthrough for Rhode Island. The Rams earned an at-large berth in the NCAA Championship field as the No. 10 seed, defeated Central Connecticut 21-17 in the first round at Meade Stadium, and finished 11-3. The team set a program record for victories and went 7-0 at home. Rhode Island also placed 11 players on the CAA Football All-Conference Teams, with two more receiving honorable mention, while A.J. Pena, Marquis Buchanan, and Malik Grant collected All-America recognition. Under Fleming, the Rams have put together five consecutive winning seasons, the first such run in school history.
