Jessie Ivey
Associate Head Coach
Jessie Ivey is the Associate Head Coach for the University of Miami women’s basketball program, entering her second season on the Hurricanes’ coaching staff after being appointed in April 2024. She joined head coach Tricia Cullop’s staff following four highly successful seasons at the University of Toledo, where she served as Associate Head Coach and was a key part of a coaching staff that built a dominant mid-major program. At Miami, Ivey brings a wealth of strategic acumen, particularly on the defensive end and in player development, along with strong recruiting and scouting skills. Her experience and leadership have complemented the Hurricanes’ return to national prominence, and she is known for her ability to cultivate strong relationships with student-athletes and staff alike. Before joining Miami, Ivey contributed to Toledo’s impressive run of three Mid-American Conference regular season titles and one MAC tournament championship, helping guide the Rockets to sustained success and NCAA Tournament appearances through her tactical expertise and coaching presence.
Prior to her time at Toledo, Ivey gained valuable head coaching experience at Tiffin University, where she revitalized the program and led the team to its first win over a nationally ranked opponent. Her earlier coaching stops include an assistant role at Bowling Green State University, where she helped improve the team’s rebounding performance, and a long tenure at the University of West Florida as a student-athlete, graduate assistant, and assistant coach. Ivey, a native of Jay, Florida, excelled as a collegiate player and later earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in exercise science from West Florida. Her career reflects a deep commitment to excellence on and off the court, combining coaching versatility with a strong foundation in leadership, player development, and competitive success.
