Jessica Yamzon is an assistant coach for the West Virginia University gymnastics program in Morgantown, West Virginia. Named to the Mountaineer staff in August 2023, she is in her fourth season with the program. She oversees balance beam, works across the other three events, coordinates the team's Nike apparel, and contributes to social media and creative content planning.
At West Virginia, Yamzon has been part of a period of progress for the program. In 2026, she helped coach Amber Lowe, Sophia Rice, and Emerson Smith to NCAA Regional Championships appearances as individual event specialists, while freshman Kayla Smith earned All-Big 12 All-Around and Freshman Team recognition after becoming the first Mountaineer freshman since 2008 to top 500 points in a season. In 2025, West Virginia climbed from No. 51 to No. 33 in the Road to Nationals rankings, posted three scores of 196.0 or better, and qualified for the NCAA Regional Championships with a 195.855 national qualifying score. Her balance beam group was central to that rise, scoring at least 49.0 in three of the final four regular-season meets and reaching a season-best 49.3 on March 4. In 2024, her first season in Morgantown, the program marked its 50th anniversary and recorded its 800th all-time victory with a win over Kent State on January 28.
