Jessica Drummond became the head coach of the University of Oregon women’s lacrosse program in June 2023, returning to her alma mater as the fourth head coach in program history. A former standout midfielder for the Ducks from 2009 to 2012, Drummond made history as the first Oregon alumna to lead the program. In her first two seasons, she has guided the team to a 14–17 overall record while significantly improving its competitiveness, particularly at home. Her leadership quickly produced results, including Oregon’s first winning season since 2017 and a strong defensive identity that has helped the Ducks consistently limit opponents’ scoring.
Prior to returning to Eugene, Drummond spent seven seasons at the University of Vermont, where she helped elevate the program as both an assistant and associate head coach. During her tenure, Vermont achieved sustained success, including a historic 2022 season that featured a conference championship and NCAA Tournament appearance. Known for her defensive expertise and player development, Drummond has coached multiple all-conference and All-America athletes throughout her career. As a player, she was a three-time all-conference selection and remains among Oregon’s all-time leaders in draw controls, caused turnovers, and ground balls. Her combination of playing experience, tactical knowledge, and leadership continues to shape Oregon’s growth in a competitive conference landscape.
