Jesse Bernhardt is the associate head coach and defensive coordinator for the University of Maryland men's lacrosse team in College Park, Maryland. A Maryland alumnus, he returned to his alma mater on July 24, 2017, when he was hired as an assistant coach, and he was promoted to associate head coach in fall 2024.
Bernhardt, a 2013 Maryland graduate in letters and sciences, began his college coaching career as a volunteer assistant with the Terrapins in 2014. He then spent two seasons at Rutgers as an assistant coach working with the defense and faceoff units before moving to Princeton for one season as defensive coordinator. At Princeton, he coached an All-Ivy League goalkeeper, an All-Ivy League defenseman, and two freshmen who earned freshman All-America recognition.
