Jerry Neuheisel
Assistant Head Coach, Tight Ends
Jerry Neuheisel has risen through the coaching ranks at his alma mater, UCLA, and currently serves as Assistant Head Coach and Tight Ends Coach after being promoted on December 18, 2024. At UCLA, he previously spent three seasons as the Wide Receivers Coach (2021-23) before transitioning to the tight ends group in 2024. As a player, Neuheisel quarterbacked the Bruins, most notably stepping in against Texas in 2014 to engineer a comeback win and earning Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week honors.
As a coach, Neuheisel has been recognized for his recruiting acumen and offensive coaching instincts, once appearing on 247Sports’ “30 Under 30” list of rising coaches. In his tight ends role in 2024, the position group flourished under his guidance; the Bruins’ offense had several breakout wide receiver seasons earlier under his tenure, reflecting his impact on pass-catcher development. Beyond his on-field contributions, Neuheisel draws on a strong football pedigree—his father, Rick Neuheisel, played quarterback at UCLA before launching a long coaching career. Jerry’s Ohio roots (Los Angeles native, Loyola High School) and his playing background offer deep connections with the program.
