Jerry Haas is the head coach of men's golf at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, a position he has held since the 1997-98 season after being appointed on September 1, 1997. A former Wake Forest All-American and alumnus, Haas returned to his alma mater after a professional playing career and has led the program back into national contention, building one of the most accomplished tenures in Division I men's golf.
Haas came back to Wake Forest with deep ties to the program. His brother, Jay Haas, helped lead the Demon Deacons to consecutive NCAA titles in the 1970s, and the family's connection to Wake Forest golf continued through Jay's son, Bill Haas, and Jerry Haas' son, Kyle Haas, who also competed for the program. Jerry Haas himself had been part of Wake Forest's tradition as a standout player in the 1980s, and his return marked a homecoming for someone shaped by the school's golf history.
