Jerise Freeman serves as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the University of Oregon women’s basketball program, joining the staff in June 2024 under head coach Kelly Graves. She brings extensive experience from the Power Five level, having previously coached at Utah and Oklahoma State. At Utah, Freeman played a key role in the program’s resurgence, helping guide the Utes to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet Sixteen run in 2023. She also contributed to player development at a high level, mentoring standout guard Gianna Kneepkens to Pac-12 Freshman of the Year honors and helping develop Alissa Pili, who became the Pac-12 Player of the Year and a top-10 WNBA Draft selection.
Before her tenure at Utah, Freeman spent four seasons at Oklahoma State, where she helped lead the Cowgirls to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances and coached several All-Americans and WNBA draft picks. Her coaching career also includes stops at Eastern Washington, Newman University, Missouri State, and Butler Community College, where she developed a reputation as a strong recruiter and player developer. As a former collegiate player, Freeman competed at Seward County Community College and the University of the Pacific, where she was a productive forward. Known for her energy and recruiting acumen, Freeman continues to play an integral role in building Oregon’s competitive roster and sustaining its national presence.
