Jenny Rowland
Head Coach
Jenny Rowland, a former U.S. National Team gymnast and collegiate All-American, enters her 11th season as head coach of Florida gymnastics in 2026. Since taking over the program in 2016, Rowland has led the Gators to seven SEC titles (three championship meet crowns and four regular-season titles), seven NCAA team final appearances, and multiple runner-up finishes at the NCAA Championships (2022 and 2023). Her 2020 squad, undefeated before the pandemic halted competition, earned her a sweep of all major coaching honors, including WCGA National Coach of the Year. In 2025, she was named Region 5 Coach of the Year, adding to her multiple SEC and national awards.
Rowland has mentored athletes who’ve earned 192 All-America honors and 11 NCAA event titles, including Honda Award winners Bridget Sloan, Alex McMurtry, and Trinity Thomas. Under her leadership, Florida athletes have also excelled academically, with multiple NCAA postgraduate scholarship recipients and the program’s highest-ever cumulative GPA (3.73 in spring 2025).
Before Florida, Rowland served as Auburn’s associate head coach, helping the Tigers to their first NCAA Super Six in 22 years and earning 2015 National Assistant Coach of the Year honors. She previously coached at Oklahoma, guiding the Sooners to three NCAA appearances, and trained Elite gymnasts at Bart Conner Gymnastics Academy.
A member of the 1989 U.S. World Championships team, Rowland earned All-America honors on uneven bars at Arizona State before completing her degree at Oklahoma. She is also an International Brevet judge, officiating at the 2008, 2012, and 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials.
Beyond gymnastics, Rowland once starred as Tracy Prescott in the 1986 film American Anthem. She and her husband, Garon (a former OU All-American gymnast), have two daughters, Ella and Emmy.
