Jennifer Sanford is the head coach of women's rowing at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut, and is in her 29th season leading the program in 2025-26. She took over in fall 1997, when UConn elevated women's rowing to varsity status.
Among the program's notable results under Sanford, UConn placed third at the 2014 American Athletic Conference Championships. The 2005 season stands out as one of the team's best: UConn won the points trophy at the Dad Vail Championship, with the varsity eight taking first, the junior varsity eight finishing second, and the novice eight placing third. That same year, the Huskies finished fourth at the Big East Championship, their best result at that event, with three boats earning third-place finishes.
