Jen Hoover
Assistant Coach
Jen Hoover took on the role of assistant coach for the Virginia Tech women’s basketball team in April 2024 under new head coach Megan Duffy. Prior to this appointment, Hoover had spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Kentucky. Earlier in her career, Hoover was the head coach at her alma mater Wake Forest University for ten seasons (2012–2022), where she became the all-time winningest women’s basketball coach in school history.
A former standout at Wake Forest, Hoover was a three-time All-ACC performer and remains among the school’s career leaders in points and rebounds. Following her collegiate playing career, she earned coaching experience at multiple programs including Missouri–Kansas City, VCU, East Carolina, James Madison, Virginia, Memphis, and California before her head coaching opportunity at High Point and then Wake Forest.
