Jen Brown
Head Women's Basketball Coach
Jen Brown is in her fifth season as head coach of the Queens University women’s basketball program. Since taking the helm, she has led the Royals to milestone performances, including a 101-point home opener in 2023–24—the highest single-game total in the Division I era of the program. Under her leadership, forward Jordyn Weaver became the first Queens women’s player to earn ASUN Player of the Week recognition by pouring in a career-high 33 points, and she also led the conference in rebounding (8.4 rpg) that season. In Brown’s inaugural DI season, she oversaw the development of Weaver and other contributors into All-Freshman and All-Academic honorees, helping lay the foundation for the program’s transition to Division I.
Prior to arriving at Queens in 2020, Brown spent four seasons as the top assistant and recruiting coordinator at Virginia Tech, where she helped orchestrate multiple 20-win seasons, top-25 recruiting classes, and consistent performance in the ACC. Before Virginia Tech, she served six years at her alma mater James Madison University, where she contributed to a dominant stretch that included multiple NCAA appearances and conference championships. As a player at JMU from 2005–08, Brown helped the Dukes to a 75–23 record and participated in postseason competition. Brown holds a bachelor’s degree in justice and a master’s degree in kinesiology from James Madison.
