Jeff Rodgers
Pitching Coach
Jeff Rodgers brings over four decades of pitching-coaching experience to his role at Colorado Mesa University. As of 2025, he is entering his 33rd season as the Mavericks’ Pitching Coach, a tenure that began in 1993. Before joining the Mavericks, Rodgers coached at the NCAA Division I level, including serving as the pitching coach at Colorado State University from 1986 to 1992.
During his time at Colorado Mesa, Rodgers’ impact has been profound: his pitching staffs have set Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) records for lowest ERAs (3.12 in 2016 and 3.18 in 2017) and the program became one of the most dominant in Division II baseball. He is known for his expertise in pitch grips and design, and has helped develop numerous MLB draft picks and All-Americans, including Sergio Romo, Brendan Donnelly and Kyle Leahy. A Colorado native from Loveland, Rodgers is a 1984 graduate of Mesa State College (now Colorado Mesa), where he was a four-year starting pitcher.
