JC Carter is the associate head coach for the West Virginia University women's basketball team in Morgantown, West Virginia, and he joined the Mountaineers' staff on April 20, 2023.
Since arriving at WVU, Carter has been part of one of the strongest runs in program history. In 2025-26, West Virginia recorded a third consecutive 25-win season and reached 78 victories across that three-year span, the best three-year opening in the program's history. The Mountaineers won their second Big 12 Tournament championship, secured an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament, advanced to the second round, and finished No. 18 in the final national rankings after climbing as high as No. 11. Jordan Harrison also earned a spot on a WNBA opening-night roster, giving the program a professional player in back-to-back seasons.
