Jay Ramirez is the head coach of Towson University gymnastics in Towson, Maryland, a position he has held since 2019. A Towson graduate and former assistant coach with the program, he returned to lead his alma mater after earlier stints on staff in 2003 and from 2016 to 2018, as well as volunteer work in 1999. Since taking over, he has guided Towson to sustained success in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League and repeated appearances on the national stage.
Under Ramirez, Towson has won three EAGL tournament championships and reached the NCAA postseason four times. His teams earned NCAA regional berths in 2021 and 2022, then won the EAGL championship for the first time in program history in 2023 while making a third straight NCAA appearance. In 2024, Towson claimed both the EAGL championship and its first EAGL regular-season title, finished 23-15, and advanced to its fourth consecutive NCAA regional. The 2025 team repeated as regular-season conference champion, went 4-0 in EAGL meets, posted 28 regular-season victories, and finished 33rd in the Road to Nationals rankings. In 2026, Towson captured its third EAGL tournament title in four seasons, winning the conference meet with a 196.375 and sending six individual competitors to the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional.
