JayDee Luster is an Assistant Coach for San Diego State Men's Basketball. A San Diego native and Hoover High School graduate, he joined the Aztec staff in August 2021 with responsibilities in recruiting, on-court coaching, and skill development. In his first four seasons, SDSU won 102 games, reached four NCAA Tournaments, made two Sweet 16 runs, and advanced to the 2023 national championship game.
Luster has played a major role in recruiting high school and transfer talent to The Mesa, including multiple four-star prospects and key transfers from Seattle U, Oakland, Florida Atlantic, San Diego, Middle Tennessee State, and other programs. Before SDSU, he coached at Pacific, worked in player development for the Dallas Mavericks, served on staffs at Bradley and Arizona, and played collegiately at New Mexico State and Wyoming.
