Jason Candle is the head football coach at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut, where he became the 33rd head coach in program history after agreeing to a six-year contract through the 2031 season.
Candle arrived at UConn after 10 seasons as head coach at Toledo, where he built the most successful record in school history. He finished the 2025 season with an 8-4 record and closed his Toledo head coaching tenure with 81 victories, moving past Gary Pinkel as the winningest coach in the program. Toledo won more games than any other Mid-American Conference team during Candle's decade in charge, and the Rockets did not post a losing season in any of those 10 years. His teams won MAC championships in 2017 and 2022, captured three MAC West Division titles, and reached seven bowl games. He was named MAC Coach of the Year in 2017 and 2023.
