Jared Bernhardt
Assistant Coach
Jared Bernhardt joined the Florida Gators as an assistant coach in July 2025, marking his first season with the women’s lacrosse program under head coach Amanda O’Leary. Bernhardt brings a versatile and decorated athletic background, having excelled in both lacrosse and football. Originally from Longwood, Florida, he played his college lacrosse at the University of Maryland from 2017-2021, where he compiled 290 points on 202 goals and 88 assists—ranking second all‐time at Maryland in both points and goals. He was a four-time All-American and earned the Tewaaraton Award in 2021.
After college, Bernhardt transitioned briefly into football. He played quarterback at Division II Ferris State as a graduate transfer, leading the team to an undefeated season and an NCAA championship. He also had stints with the Atlanta Falcons (NFL) and BC Lions (CFL) before signing with the Denver Outlaws in the Premier Lacrosse League in June 2025. Before joining Florida, he spent the 2024 season as Director of Player Development for Maryland men’s lacrosse.
