James O'Hagan is the run game coordinator and offensive line coach for the University of Maine football program in Orono, Maine, and enters his second season with the Black Bears in 2026 after serving as offensive line coach in 2025. In his first season at Maine, the Black Bears gave up 18 sacks, or 1.5 per game, and did not allow a sack in three straight games against Merrimack, Elon, and Stony Brook. Maine's production up front also coincided with Anthony Iliano earning CAA All-Conference second-team honors on the offensive line, Sincere Baines making the third team at running back, and Rashawn Marshall being named a Phil Steele Freshman All-American at running back.
Before arriving at Maine, O'Hagan coached at Long Island University, Florida Atlantic, and Buffalo. He was Long Island's offensive line coach in 2024 and oversaw a unit that ranked second in pass protection according to Pro Football Focus while coaching two All-Northeast Conference selections. He then followed a 2023 season as an offensive line graduate assistant at Florida Atlantic after two years in the same role at Buffalo, his alma mater.
