Jacob Terao serves as an assistant coach for the Bellevue College baseball program, entering his second season as the team’s catching coach. A Bellevue alumnus, Terao returned to his roots after a successful collegiate playing career, bringing firsthand experience and leadership to the Bulldogs’ coaching staff. In his current role, he works closely with catchers while also contributing to player development and overall team performance. His familiarity with the program and its expectations allows him to effectively mentor student-athletes both on and off the field.
Terao’s playing career spans both the NWAC and NCAA Division I levels. After beginning at the University of Portland, he transferred to Bellevue College where he earned the starting catcher role and was named team MVP for the 2018–2019 season. He later continued his career at Towson University, helping the Tigers reach the 2021 CAA Tournament. Prior to college, Terao was a standout multi-sport athlete at Seattle Preparatory School, earning multiple All-Metro honors in baseball and football while being named the school’s top male athlete. His experience also includes participation in elite development opportunities such as the Kansas City Royals Area Code Team and the New York Yankees scout team abroad, along with collegiate summer leagues. Before returning to Bellevue, he coached at Hendrix College as a catching and strength and conditioning coach and currently contributes to athlete development as Assistant Operations Director at Go Time Athletics.
