Jack Marder is an assistant coach for the University of Oregon baseball program, where he serves as the Ducks’ hitting coach, works with the catchers, and helps lead recruiting efforts. A former Oregon player, Marder has been a key part of Mark Wasikowski’s staff during one of the most productive stretches in program history. Since joining the staff, he has helped Oregon reach the NCAA postseason in each of its five full seasons, including super regional appearances and a conference championship. Under his direction, Oregon’s offense has become one of the most dangerous in school history, rewriting the program record book in categories such as home runs, runs scored, RBI, and total bases while producing multiple All-Americans and all-conference hitters.
Before returning to Eugene, Marder gained coaching experience at Stanford and Keiser after beginning his coaching career as an undergraduate assistant at Oregon. At Stanford, he worked with hitters and catchers while contributing to a team that advanced deep into postseason play and produced multiple draft picks. As a player, Marder was a catcher, infielder, and outfielder for Oregon before being selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 2011 MLB Draft. He spent four seasons in professional baseball, reaching Double-A in the Mariners organization. With both playing and coaching roots at Oregon, Marder has become an important figure in the Ducks’ player development and recruiting success, and he is widely regarded as one of the rising young coaches in college baseball.
