Jack Barrett
Associate Head Men's Basketball Coach
Jack Barrett is entering his third season with the Johns Hopkins men’s basketball program and was elevated to Associate Head Coach in the fall of 2025. Prior to his arrival at Homewood, Barrett spent twelve seasons at Emerson College, including nine as Associate Head Coach. At Johns Hopkins, he has been integral to the team’s strong performance: in the 2024–25 season, the Blue Jays posted a 17–10 overall record and 10–3 in Centennial Conference play, reaching the conference title game for the seventh straight year. In his first season on staff, the squad went 20–7 (15–3 conference) and made the Centennial Conference title game for a sixth consecutive year. During his tenure, Barrett has coached six All-Centennial Conference selections, mentored the 2024 Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year, the Rookie of the Year, and guided two players to 1,000-point career milestones.
Before joining Johns Hopkins, Barrett’s work at Emerson included recruiting and developing nine all-conference players (five first team), one rookie of the year, and helping lead the squad to its first-ever NEWMAC Championship in 2019 and its inaugural NCAA Tournament berth. The program earned seven conference tournament appearances under his watch. A Reading, Massachusetts native, Barrett played three seasons at Franklin Pierce University before finishing his collegiate playing career at Wentworth Institute of Technology. After graduating from Wentworth in 2010, he began his coaching journey at Suffolk University, helping guide the Rams to a league playoff berth.
