J.J. Clark is Stanford's Franklin P. Johnson Director of Track and Field and Cross Country, a role he has held since July 2019 while overseeing both programs. His Stanford tenure has included multiple USTFCCCA West Region Coach of the Year honors and Pac-12 Cross Country Coach of the Year awards, adding to a career resume that includes national, regional, and conference coaching recognition.
Across stops at Stanford, Connecticut, Tennessee, and Florida, Clark has coached more than 100 All-Americans and hundreds of All-America honors. At Stanford, his athletes have produced Academic All-America selections, numerous school records, NCAA titles, and historic team finishes, including the 2023 season when both Cardinal track and field teams placed in the top four nationally and the 2024 campaign highlighted by Juliette Whittaker's NCAA 800-meter sweep and Olympic final appearance.
