Ian Fried is the assistant GM and pro liaison for the University of Connecticut football program in Storrs, Connecticut, joining the staff in January 2026. He arrived from Buffalo, where he led recruiting operations and strategy while also handling roster management, personnel evaluation, and NFL liaison duties. Buffalo promoted him to assistant athletic director for recruiting and pro liaison before the 2025 season after he had served as director of recruiting since 2023.
Fried previously was director of recruiting at Western Michigan and worked at Colgate in quality control and video operations. His earlier experience included player personnel, recruiting operations, and player development positions at the United States Military Academy, Pennsylvania, and USC. A Stamford native, he graduated from Temple in 2021 with a degree in sport and recreation management.
