Hannah Qualls
Head Softball Coach
Hannah Qualls was appointed head coach of the University of Mary Washington women’s softball program effective for the 2025 season. Coming to UMW from Huntingdon College, she served as hitting instructor and assistant coach, where her work helped players bat over .400, with several earning All-America honors. Qualls holds a bachelor’s degree in sports management from Faulkner University and a master’s in occupational therapy from Alabama State University. At Huntingdon, in addition to her coaching role, she directed hitting instruction and helped manage the infield and outfield defensive practices and strength/conditioning programs. She also brings experience coaching youth travel teams — specifically as head coach of 16U and 18U clubs such as West Florida Elite and Fury in Chattanooga.
At UMW, Qualls will be charged with rebuilding and elevating the softball program both on and off the field, leveraging her recruiting, instructional, and player-development background. Her stated goal is to establish a winning culture, strengthen fundamentals and compete at the highest levels of NCAA Division III competition.
