Hailey King joined Portland State University as an assistant coach for the 2025–26 season, reuniting with head coach Karlie Burris after working together at UNLV. King was part of a highly successful stretch with the Lady Rebels, serving as director of player development and video coordinator from 2022 to 2025. During her tenure, UNLV secured multiple Mountain West Conference regular-season titles and postseason appearances, contributing to one of the most successful periods in program history. Known for her analytical approach, King played a key role in providing detailed scouting reports, film breakdowns, and performance analytics to enhance team preparation and player development.
Prior to her time at UNLV, King gained valuable coaching experience at multiple levels. She served as an assistant coach at Fullerton College from 2018 to 2022, where she focused on offensive strategy, guard development, and strength and conditioning, while also managing scouting and film sessions. Earlier in her career, King coached at Hope International University and was the head girls basketball coach at Mater Dei High School, demonstrating leadership and program-building ability early on. A former student-athlete at Cal State Fullerton, where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in kinesiology, King brings a well-rounded background in coaching, player development, and analytics to Portland State’s staff.
