Greg Young is the Special Assistant to the Head Coach for Maryland men's basketball in College Park, Maryland, beginning with the 2025-26 season. He joined the program after a long professional association with head coach Buzz Williams and arrived with nearly 40 years of coaching experience.
Before coming to Maryland, Young was associate head coach at Troy from 2023 to 2025. He also spent 14 years at UT Arlington, serving as an assistant coach, associate head coach, and later head coach from 2021 until February 2023. During nine of his seasons on the UT Arlington staff, the Mavericks won at least 19 games five times and reached 21 or more victories in four seasons, including each of the final three years of that stretch. Ahead of the 2020-21 season, he was voted the Sun Belt Conference's top assistant coach by his peers.
