Greg Ruttler
Head Coach
Greg Ruttler is in his 11th season as head coach of the Stockton University men’s soccer program, his alma mater, and has compiled a 95-61-32 record (.587 winning percentage). He ranks second in program history in victories and has guided the Ospreys to NJAC Tournament berths in nine of his 10 seasons at the helm. Most recently, Ruttler led Stockton to nine wins and its first NJAC championship game appearance since 2004. In 2024, he steered the Ospreys to an 11-4-5 record, the team’s highest win total since 2017 and the fifth double-digit win season of his tenure. His 2015 debut season was particularly notable, as he led Stockton to a 14-6-1 record and earned NJAC Coach of the Year honors.
Before becoming head coach, Ruttler spent nine years as an assistant and associate coach, contributing to a 119-61-22 record with two NCAA Tournament appearances. As a player, he was instrumental in Stockton’s rise to national prominence, helping the Ospreys win the 2001 NCAA Championship and reach the 1999 Final Four. A 2001 NSCAA Third Team All-American and three-time All-Region selection, Ruttler ranks among Stockton’s all-time leaders in games played, points, assists, and goals. He earned his degree in criminal justice in 2003 and has been inducted into both the Stockton Athletics Hall of Fame and the South Jersey Soccer Hall of Fame.
