Gregg Burke is the head coach of the University of Rhode Island men's golf team in Kingston, Rhode Island, and entered the 2024-25 academic year in his 20th year at the university and his 14th season leading the program. A Rhode Island native, he first joined URI in 2004 as deputy director of athletics, served as an assistant golf coach in 2010-11, and then became the school's first full-time golf coach.
Under Burke, Rhode Island has produced a number of notable competitive results and individual honors. In 2023-24, Bryson Richards finished one of the most accomplished careers in program history, winning three tournaments to raise his career total to a school-record six. Richards also earned Division I PING All-Northeast and Atlantic 10 All-Conference recognition for a third consecutive season and became the program's first four-time GCAA All-American Scholar. That same year, Tony Liu collected three Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week awards and Josiah Tong received the honor once.
