Greg Brisbon enters his 13th season as the head coach of the Western Washington University (WWU) Men’s Soccer program in 2025, marking 25 years associated with WWU soccer overall. He is the all-time leader in WWU Men’s Soccer history with a .554 winning percentage and ranks second with 93 wins. Under his leadership, the Vikings have earned two NCAA Division II Championship appearances, highlighted by a 2019 Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) title. Brisbon has consistently built competitive teams, achieving a 78-46-26 record since 2016 and maintaining strong academic standards with 85 All-GNAC Academic selections over eight seasons and back-to-back United Soccer Coaches Team Academic awards in 2019-20. He previously served as an assistant and associate head coach for 12 seasons before taking over as head coach in 2013.
Throughout his tenure, Brisbon has developed a program recognized for both athletic and academic excellence. His teams have achieved multiple milestones, including the first NCAA II Tournament appearance and postseason victory in 2016, a program-record unbeaten start in 2022, and notable victories over top-ranked opponents. He also has extensive coaching experience outside of WWU, including club, high school, and regional development programs, and played professionally with the Tallahassee Scorpions in 1998. Brisbon holds a bachelor’s degree from Seattle Pacific University, where he played for the Falcons and competed in the NCAA Tournament. His playing career also includes a record-setting season at Edmonds Community College and a strong foundation from his high school days at North Kitsap High School.
