Head Coach
Grant Billmeier will enter his third season as the head coach of the New Jersey Institute of Technology men’s basketball program in the 2025–26 season, after being named the 12th head coach in program history in April 2023. A native of Pennington, New Jersey, Billmeier returned to his home state following a season on the coaching staff at the University of Maryland, where he worked under Kevin Willard. Earlier in his career, Billmeier also served as Seton Hall’s director of basketball operations from 2010–14 and spent one season as an assistant coach at Fairleigh Dickinson. Renowned for his work with post players, Billmeier helped develop multiple elite big men, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award winner Angel Delgado, Big East Player of the Year Sandro Mamukelashvili, and Big East Defensive Player of the Year Romaro Gill. A 2007 Seton Hall graduate, Billmeier was a four-year player and two-time team captain for the Pirates before playing professionally in Germany and Portugal. He is a graduate of St. Patrick High School, where he won the 2003 New Jersey Tournament of Champions under Kevin Boyle, and later began his coaching career on Boyle’s staff.
