Giuseppe Papaccio
Associate Head Coach
Giuseppe Papaccio returned to his alma mater as associate head coach of the Seton Hall baseball program and has quickly made a significant impact on the Pirates’ offensive production and recruiting efforts. A former All-American shortstop and 18th-round MLB Draft selection by the Chicago Cubs, Papaccio brings professional playing experience and a strong developmental background to South Orange. Since rejoining the staff, he has helped guide Seton Hall to multiple BIG EAST Tournament appearances while mentoring two conference batting champions: Devin Hack (.439 in league play, 2023) and Aidan Robbins (.422 overall, 2025). Under his tutelage, the Pirates’ offense has seen marked improvement, including a 31-win season in 2023 and a 44-home run campaign in 2025—the program’s highest total since 1999.
Prior to his return, Papaccio served four seasons as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at NJIT, where he helped lead the Highlanders to the 2021 America East Championship and the program’s first NCAA Tournament victory in any sport. His offensive units at NJIT set numerous school records, and he played a key role in assembling one of the highest-ranked recruiting classes in program history. As a player at Seton Hall, Papaccio was a unanimous First Team All-BIG EAST selection and NJCBA Player of the Year in 2013, finishing his career among the program’s all-time leaders in hits and doubles while setting the school record with 56 career doubles. After graduation, he spent three seasons in the Chicago Cubs organization, reaching Double-A.
