Gerry Quinlan has served as head coach of women's rowing at Fordham University in Bronx, New York, since August 2025. He arrived at Fordham after a long tenure at Saint Joseph's University, where he completed 26 seasons as head coach of the women's program and was a central figure in the development of the school's rowing efforts after joining the staff in 1999.
At Saint Joseph's, Quinlan oversaw one of the stronger programs in the East. His crews earned 12 medals at the Atlantic 10 Championships over a nine-year span, and the Hawks won the conference team title in 2011. Saint Joseph's also collected eight medals at the Dad Vail Regatta during his time, and the combined men's and women's programs captured the Dad Vail Overall Points Trophy in 2005, 2006 and 2010. The 2011 season was especially notable, as the Hawks won the program's first Dad Vail gold medal and claimed their first Atlantic 10 team championship. His Saint Joseph's teams also raced internationally, including two appearances at the Henley Royal Regatta in England.
