George Kiefer
Head Coach
George Kiefer enters his second tenure as head coach of the University of South Florida men’s soccer program in 2026, having been announced in December 2025. One of the most accomplished coaches in the history of the program, Kiefer previously led the Bulls from 2002 to 2016, compiling a 162-86-51 record and guiding South Florida through one of its most successful eras. During that span, USF earned four conference championships, made 10 NCAA Tournament appearances, and advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight in both 2008 and 2011. His six NCAA Tournament victories remain the most in program history, and his win total ranks second all-time among USF head coaches.
Across a 24-season collegiate head coaching career, Kiefer has built a national reputation for sustained success and program building. In addition to his time at USF, he served as head coach at NC State from 2017 to 2023 and most recently at Grand Canyon University, where he led the Lopes to a 2025 Western Athletic Conference championship and an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance. Overall, his teams have made 14 NCAA Tournament appearances, reached four Sweet 16s, two Elite Eights, and won five conference titles. A former standout player at Southern Connecticut State, where he won two NCAA Division II national championships, Kiefer brings deep experience, a proven competitive standard, and a history of postseason success as he returns to lead the Bulls.
