George Husack
Head Coach
George Husack has led the University of Alabama men’s tennis program since 2012, bringing a championship vision and national pedigree to Tuscaloosa. Since his arrival, Husack has guided the Crimson Tide to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances and elevated the program to historic heights. In 2024, he coached Filip Planinsek to Alabama’s first-ever NCAA singles national championship, marking the first individual NCAA title in program history. Under his leadership, Alabama has reached the NCAA Round of 16, produced national finalists in doubles, and earned numerous All-America honors and SEC accolades. Entering the 2026 season with 170 dual match victories at Alabama, including more than 100 at home, Husack has firmly established the Tide as a competitive force in the SEC and nationally.
Prior to Alabama, Husack served as associate head coach at Southern California, where he helped the Trojans capture multiple national championships and compile an 85-6 record during his tenure. He was named the 2012 ITA National Assistant Coach of the Year and played a key role in developing NCAA singles champion Steve Johnson. Husack also coached at Illinois and spent over a decade at Santa Clara, including five seasons as head coach, where he built the program to record-setting success. A native of San Mateo, California, Husack earned his bachelor’s degree from San Diego State and an MBA from the University of San Francisco. He and his spouse, Kristina, have three children: Nina, Grant, and Greta.
