Garrett Gillick is the linebackers coach for the University of Massachusetts Amherst football program in Amherst, Massachusetts, and joined the staff in January 2025 for his second season with the Minutemen. In his first year at UMass, he coached Tyler Martin to All-MAC Third Team honors, and Martin and Timmy Hinspeter were later named to Phil Steele's 2026 Preseason All-MAC teams.
Gillick arrived at Massachusetts after 11 seasons at New Hampshire, where he finished as associate head coach and defensive coordinator. While with the Wildcats, he was part of six NCAA FCS playoff appearances, including a postseason berth in 2024, and coached 2024 CAA Defensive Player of the Year Josiah Silver, who had previously been named the league's Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2021. In Gillick's first season at New Hampshire, the Wildcats reached the FCS national semifinals and ranked second in the CAA in scoring defense.
