Frank Martin is the head coach of the University of Massachusetts Amherst men's basketball team in Amherst, Massachusetts, and enters his fifth season leading the program in 2026-27 after being hired in March 2022 as the 23rd head coach in team history.
Through his first four seasons at UMass, Martin compiled a 64-63 record, produced two winning seasons and guided the Minutemen to a 20-win campaign. His tenure has included a rise in all-conference recognition for the program, with five All-Conference selections from 2023 through 2026. In 2025-26, UMass finished 17-16 in its first season in the Mid-American Conference and earned three wins over power-conference opponents, defeating Boston College, Florida State and Oregon State. The season also included the program's first win over a ranked team since 2013, a MAC quarterfinal victory over No. 20 Miami (Ohio). Leonardo Bettiol and Marcus Banks Jr. were named All-MAC, while freshman Danny Carbuccia earned MAC All-Freshman Team honors. Banks set school single-season and single-game records for three-pointers, and Carbuccia recorded one of the top assist totals in program history.
