Filip Vittek
Assistant Coach
Filip Vittek serves as an Assistant Coach for the University of Miami men’s tennis program, bringing a blend of professional tour experience, collegiate coaching success, and elite playing credentials to Coral Gables. He joined the Hurricanes after spending two years as a tennis coach and academy director at Add2Performance in Tampa, where he worked extensively on player development and performance training. Prior to that role, Vittek gained valuable professional experience as an assistant coach and hitting partner for ATP Tour standout Dominik Koepfer, who competed in multiple Grand Slam events and represented Germany at the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games.
In his first season with Miami, Vittek played a key role in helping the Hurricanes return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2022, marking the program’s 30th all-time NCAA appearance. The team finished the season 13–11 overall and remained undefeated at home, earning notable top-25 victories, including a win over No. 16 Clemson. Individually, Vittek helped guide senior Martin Katz to his first All-ACC honor, a career-high singles ranking of No. 20, a doubles ranking of No. 43, and qualification to the NCAA Singles Championships in fall 2024. A native of Trnava, Slovakia, Vittek previously coached in the ACC at the University of Pittsburgh during the 2018 and 2019 seasons, where he helped lead the Panthers to historic program milestones. As a former standout student-athlete at the University of San Diego, he set school records in doubles victories, earned a top-10 national doubles ranking, and became the first player in program history to win four consecutive West Coast Conference Tournament championships.
