Felipe Caycedo serves as an assistant coach for the Bellevue College softball program, joining the staff in 2024. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, and raised in Bellevue, Washington, Caycedo brings a unique blend of international perspective and strong local ties to the program. A graduate of Bellevue High School, where he played baseball, he developed a lifelong passion for the sport that transitioned into a coaching career focused on developing student-athletes both on and off the field. His background in baseball provides a strong technical foundation that he applies effectively in the softball environment.
Caycedo began his coaching career at Newport High School, serving as an assistant coach from 2017 to 2019 and contributing to a historic fifth-place state finish in 2018. He later became the head softball coach at Bellevue High School from 2020 to 2024, where he guided the program to multiple district tournament appearances while building a competitive and disciplined culture. In addition to his high school coaching experience, Caycedo has contributed internationally, working with the Colombian National Softball Team in preparation for the Pan American Games and leading coaching clinics aimed at developing youth players and coaches. He also remains active in player development through his work with Field of Champions, emphasizing accountability, teamwork, and a strong love for the game.
