Ethan Nittolo
Assistant Coach
Ethan Nittolo joined the Princeton University men’s tennis coaching staff ahead of the 2025–26 season, adding a blend of high-level playing experience and emerging collegiate coaching success to the Tigers’ program. Announced by head coach Billy Pate, Nittolo arrives at Princeton after building a strong foundation as an assistant coach at the University at Buffalo, where he worked closely with players on both competitive performance and character development. His familiarity with Ivy League and national-level competition, combined with firsthand knowledge of Princeton’s coaching network, positions him as a valuable asset as the Tigers continue to compete at the highest levels of college tennis.
Following his graduation from Buffalo in 2019, Nittolo joined the Bulls’ coaching staff and was promoted to assistant coach in 2020. During his tenure, Buffalo compiled a 50–49 overall record, highlighted by a breakthrough 2025 season in which the team finished 18–6, returned to the national rankings for the first time since 2014, and captured the MAC Conference Championship. His coaching role emphasized player growth, match preparation, and team culture, helping guide the program through one of its most successful stretches in over a decade.
As a player at Buffalo, Nittolo was one of the most accomplished competitors in program history. He was a multiple-time All-MAC selection, a MAC Tournament MVP, and the school’s all-time leader in doubles victories, while also ranking among the top three in singles wins. Known for his sportsmanship and leadership, he earned the Jack Vredevelt Sportsmanship Award as a senior. That competitive pedigree and leadership background now translate into his coaching approach at Princeton.
