Eric Blevins
Diving Coach
Eric Blevins is the diving coach for the swimming and diving program at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), entering his seventh season in that role for the 2024-25 academic year. Since joining the Lions in September 2018, Blevins has been instrumental in developing TCNJ’s divers into competitive collegiate athletes, coaching multiple NCAA regional qualifiers and earning multiple Metropolitan Conference Diving Coach of the Year honors for both women’s (2020, 2022, 2023) and men’s diving (2023). His technical expertise and energetic coaching style have helped elevate the profile and performance of the diving squad within the NJAC and at NCAA competition.
Before his tenure at TCNJ, Blevins spent seven years as the diving coach at Rider University, where his divers earned nine NCAA Zone A qualifying spots and he coached multiple conference divers of the year. Prior to Rider, he served as diving coach at the University of Evansville, where he was named Missouri Valley Diving Coach of the Year (2011) and guided athletes to NCAA Zone qualifying performances. Blevins’ collegiate coaching career also includes positions at Minnesota State University, St. Lawrence University, and the University of the South, reflecting more than a decade of experience guiding divers at varied levels of competition.
A standout competitive diver himself, Blevins was a record-setting athlete at Grinnell College, where he became an eight-time conference diving champion and a two-time All-American, later earning induction into the Grinnell College Athletics Hall of Fame. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Grinnell and a Master’s in Sports Management from Minnesota State University-Mankato, grounding his coaching philosophy in both athletic excellence and sport administration.
