Emily Piergustavo is in her first season as hitting coach and recruiting coordinator for the University of Rhode Island softball program in Kingston, Rhode Island. She arrived at Rhode Island after serving as an assistant coach at Tufts, where she oversaw hitting and assisted with practice planning, clinics, and team travel.
A Milford, Massachusetts, native, Piergustavo played collegiately at the University of Connecticut from 2019 to 2022. An infielder who primarily handled the corner positions, she appeared in 75 games with 45 starts, earned a degree in sport management, and served on UConn's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She then spent the 2023 season at St. Bonaventure, making 45 starts between shortstop and third base while completing a master's degree in sport administration. Before college, she was part of Milford High School's 2017 Massachusetts Division I state championship team and was the Hockomock League MVP that year.
