Associate Head Coach
Emanuel Dildy joined Duke University’s men’s basketball staff in August 2023 as an assistant coach, and was promoted in August 2025 to the Steve & Judy Pagliuca Associate Head Coach role under head coach Jon Scheyer. He is widely regarded as one of the nation’s top recruiters and a detailed teacher of the game, bringing to Duke a proven track record of talent acquisition and player development. Prior to Duke, Dildy spent two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a promotion to associate head coach and played a key role in signing several ESPN 100 prospects. Before that, he served three years at Northwestern University under Chris Collins, helping assemble the program’s highest-rated recruiting class. He also held coaching positions at Valparaiso (2017-18), Missouri (2016-17), Loyola Chicago (2013-16) and Eastern Illinois (2012-13) before his transition to Duke.
A Chicago native, Dildy began his coaching career at Kennedy-King College in Chicago as an assistant (2008-10) and then head coach (2010-12). He played two seasons at New Mexico State before transferring to Eastern Illinois, where he earned All-Ohio Valley Conference honors and graduated with a Communications degree in 2005. After college, he played professionally in Germany for two years and in the International Basketball League in the U.S. for one season.
At Duke, Dildy is tasked with strengthening the program’s recruiting pipeline and bringing his experience in player development to a roster with elite incoming talent. His promotion reflects the high esteem in which Scheyer and the staff hold his recruiting prowess, teaching ability, and work ethic.
