Elvis Forde is the head women's track and field coach at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he has led the track and field and cross country program since August 2014. A native of St. Andrew, Barbados, he arrived at Temple with 25 years of NCAA Division I head coaching experience and a background that includes high-level success as both a coach and athlete.
Before joining Temple, Forde spent 12 years as head track and field coach at Illinois State after a 13-year run as head track and field coach at Austin Peay State. His work at Illinois State included coaching athletes such as 10-time All-American Brittany Smith, NCAA javelin champion Tim Glover, and Devon Williams, a two-time Missouri Valley Conference Female Student-Athlete of the Year who won 11 conference titles and set four school records along with one conference mark. At Austin Peay, he was named Ohio Valley Coach of the Year in 2001 and coached four Capital One Academic All-Americans, an NCAA Outdoor All-American, and three conference Student-Athletes of the Year.
