Elizabeth Field joined the Portland State volleyball program as an assistant coach in 2026, bringing a strong background in player development and front-row play. Known for her expertise with middle blockers, Field immediately adds value to the Vikings’ presence at the net. Prior to arriving in Portland, she spent two seasons at Idaho State, where she coached setters and middle blockers while also serving as recruiting coordinator and contributing to offensive strategy. During her tenure, Idaho State led the Big Sky Conference in blocks per set in consecutive seasons and ranked among the top teams nationally, including a top-three finish in 2024. She also helped guide the Bengals to a second-place conference finish and a postseason appearance, including a run to the Big Sky Tournament championship match in 2025.
Field’s coaching is complemented by an accomplished playing career at both the collegiate and professional levels. At Wichita State, she was part of a highly successful program that reached the NCAA Tournament each season, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2012 and conference title sweeps in 2013. She finished her career ranked among the program’s top performers in several statistical categories, particularly in blocking. Professionally, Field competed across Europe, playing in Finland, Romania, Germany, and the Czech Republic. She served as team captain for Liigaploki in Finland, leading the squad to a Finnish Cup Championship during the 2019–20 season. Her combination of high-level playing experience and proven coaching success positions her as a key addition to the Portland State staff.
