Dwayne Lee is an assistant coach for the Virginia Commonwealth University men's basketball team in Richmond, Virginia, joining the staff in May 2026.
Before arriving at VCU, Lee spent four seasons at George Washington from 2022 to 2026, including duties as defensive coordinator. His work there was tied to a major defensive turnaround in 2024-25, when the team cut its points allowed by 8.9 per game from the previous season and finished among the top three in the Atlantic 10 across defensive categories. George Washington also ranked among the national top 100 in steals, three-point defense, scoring defense, turnovers forced, and field goal percentage defense, and posted its best KenPom defensive efficiency since 2015-16. In 2025-26, Lee helped the Revolutionaries reach the NIT and achieve their best KenPom and NET rankings in a decade.
