Duane Woodward is an assistant coach for the University of Rhode Island men's basketball program in Kingston, Rhode Island, and he entered his third season with the Rams in 2024-25 after being hired by Archie Miller in April 2022.
A native of Queens, New York, Woodward arrived at Rhode Island after four seasons on Kevin Willard's staff at Seton Hall. The Pirates went 76-47 during his time there and reached the NCAA Tournament twice, in 2019 and 2022. Seton Hall's 2019-20 team finished third in the Big East and was positioned for another NCAA bid before the postseason was canceled because of COVID. At Seton Hall, Woodward worked with guards and wings and was involved in recruiting. His work with the perimeter group included the development of players such as Myles Cale and Jared Rhoden. Rhoden improved steadily over multiple seasons, later earning first-team All-Met honors and a spot on the Big East Championship All-Tournament Team. In 2019-20, Seton Hall posted a 21-9 record, climbed as high as No. 8 nationally and shared the Big East regular-season title, the program's first conference championship since 1993.
